Make this year shine and sparkle

Christian Aid Week 14th – 20th May 2017. This year we celebrate the diamond jubilee of Christian Aid Week In 1945 British churches founded Christian Aid to support refugees who had lost their homes and possessions in the Second World War. Twelve years later Christian Aid Week was launched to help fund this ongoing work; sixty years on, Christians continue to refuse to stand by watching others suffer. Christian Aid now works in 48 countries and its campaigning activities in Britain and Ireland remain firmly rooted in the Christian faith. Acting as the churches’ development agency, it is sponsored by the churches and so unites people from all denominations and networks in prayer and service. The inspiration of Christian Aid comes from the mission and ministry of Jesus and by the vision of a new earth where everyone lives in justice, peace and plenty. As the sparkle from diamonds can light up our lives so let us help the work of Christian Aid to light up the lives of those in poverty. Please help with the door-to-door collections if able.
