Delighted to welcome to many people

What a day to remember? Revd Carolyn was delighted to welcome so many people to St Mary’s May Fayre yesterday, following two days of dull, damp, miserable weather she was overjoyed to see the sun shining as a bevy of people went to and fro setting up the stalls and sideshows, games and activities for everyone to enjoy. As she welcomed the congregation this morning, Revd Carolyn said how thrilled she was to have seen so many people in and around the Church and on Church Green, with senior and young and many families with their children all enjoying the day. Carolyn said that almost each time she walked into the church she had to squeeze past someone as it seemed to be busy all the time, what with the bell ringers showing people around and others pointing out interesting areas of the church. And of course, St Leonard’s Hall was constantly full of people enjoying the refreshments. Revd Carolyn was delighted to announce an unconfirmed amount raised for the church of £2,500 although there was still some to be accounted for but she said that we will be informed of the final amount in due course.

On St Mary’s facebook page there was a lovely message from the May Fayre team saying - Thank you to all those that came along today to support our Church May Fayre, not only were we blessed with the weather but we were astounded at the amount of people that came and enjoyed the event. It was so great to see so many families, kids, friends, locals, residents, visitors all smiling in the sun watching the BGT, taking part in the games, learning about the Church and Bells, enjoying the food and drink - It truly was a real 'community fun vibe’ and a HUGE THANKS to my BGT acts you were fantastic – without you we would have had no entertainment. Thanks also to all those who helped on the run up and on the day running stalls etc. (and those who supported who couldn’t be there) catering and donating for the raffle. Thanks also to the local businesses who very kindly donated raffle prizes for the hamper voucher raffle. YOU WERE ALL AMAZING! Same time next year folks!!! PS – Keep your eyes peeled – we may appear in the Broomfield Times x Sarah x feeling blessed.
