Our own ‘disciples’ David and Arthur studying their 'catch'

Our own ‘disciples’ David and Arthur studying their 'catch'

Well, even though it was quite chilly this morning I am sure we all enjoyed our breakfast on the beach… Revd Julie lead this morning's family service during which we all became ‘fish’ when we wrote our names on paper fishes. During Revd Julie’s talk, our very own ‘disciples’ David and Arthur went around the church with a very large net hoping to catch as many of us fish as possible, during which time we were enjoying crispy fish snacks and pieces of bread that were being handed round to us. Julie talked about our Gospel reading from John 21: In which the disciples went out to fish but caught nothing and when making their way back to shore Jesus appeared to them from the beach and told them to cast their nets on the other side of the boat. We are told that their haul was massive and when eating their breakfast on the beach with Jesus, He told them that He would make them fishers of men…

We were also delighted to see the puppet crew this morning perform for us the song ‘Don’t worry, trust Jesus’ as we all gave a thumbs up for our risen Lord and Saviour, and I am sure we were all delighted to see Revd Julie, take the opportunity to dance around the church with one of her very young, twin granddaughters to the hymn ‘Lord of the Dance’. Let’s all dance and enjoy our resurrected Lord’s breakfast. Alleluia!
