I held back from writing about our pilgrimage because there is nothing worse than a ‘holiday bore’ but I feel compelled to relate just some of my thoughts, as in no way was this trip a ‘holiday’ in fact, many of us I am sure, felt that we would need a holiday once our Pilgrimage was complete.
Our programme was tightly packed and I do believe that we successfully completed the course that had been set out for us. Our pilgrimage companions were great at getting everywhere on time and getting back to the coach on time which meant that we could journey on to the next place without delay. There was so much to see, to feel and to learn about… I had to keep a very scratchy journal to make sure I didn’t forget anything. Lots of the places we visited were easy to relate to as we had all heard them mentioned in bible stories over the years. Places like to Garden of Gethsemane, Mount Zion, Bethlehem, the River Jordan and many, many more,,,
There were of course some fun-times such as watching those who dared to float on the Dead Sea. There was lots of fun and laughter in the coach between Revd’s Lee and Anne, with poor Anne coming of worst most of the time although; she did manage to hold her own on most occasions. Seeing Revd Carolyn on a camel! Yes, the mind boggles…. So the story continues,
