What a lovely service we had on Sunday here at St Mary’s. There was such a lot going on in Church that morning that it’s hard to know where to start! The church was packed for the family service that started at 10.30am. We were fortunate enough to have many new faces in the congregation in order to hear our new Chelmsford Children’s Choir make their debut on Mothering Sunday singing a beautiful song called ‘Thank you, thank you’ especially chosen for their mums of course. The puppets appeared singing ‘Smile’, just before turning to the Mothering Sunday flowers which were blessed by Carolyn, before being distributed to all the mums and ladies in the congregation.

Revd Carolyn requested that parents did not take photographs of the Children’s Choir during the service, but she gave parents plenty of time at the end so that they were free to take as many photos as they wished, during which we were fortunate enough to have a reprise of their special mum’s song.

A special thank you must go to Margaret Pinkerton for all the work she did with the flowers to give the day that special touch. Thank you Margaret
