Alleluia! Christ is risen, Alleluia!
Church News | Sunday, 5 April 2015 |
What a wonderful Easter service we had on Sunday. It was a huge family service during which we renewed our baptismal vows and were sprinkled with holy water by Reverends Carolyn and Anne.
The church was awash with colour provided by the beautiful flower arrangements and Easter trees, and of course the lovely display depicting the empty tomb and the risen Christ that is lovingly provided every year by Anne Haward.
Our choir sang a beautiful anthem to start the service and we joyfuly sang ‘Jesus Christ is risen today’ and ‘All people that on earth do dwell’ during which Jill provided us with some amazing organ music. We ended our service with the words of ‘Thine be the glory’. We left the service in brilliant sunshine after having been offered Easter eggs to enjoy at home. Many thanks must go to all the people who helped make our Easter service extra special, especially Jill Parkin and the choir; Margaret Pinkerton and her team of flower arrangers who helped make our church ‘come alive’
