Were You Watching?
Church News | Saturday, 5 December 2015 |
Well, if you weren’t watching I can assure you that Father Christmas has been and gone and you have missed him! It all happened at St Mary’s this afternoon after Revd Carolyn managed to arrange for Father Christmas to take a break from organising all this year’s toys and gifts to come along for a couple of hours to hand out early presents for St Mary’s children. Of course we had to call out very loud so that he could find his way into St Leonard’s Hall where everyone was waiting to welcome him.
Also in the hall and church were lots of stalls, games and craft work, providing plenty to do and see. Our faithful puppets performed three times throughout the afternoon entertaining the children and their parents, grandparent and child-minders, all Christmas songs of course with lots of snowballs and sparkle. The afternoon ended with a fantastic raffle, straight after Father Christmas had left St Mary’s, eager to get back to all the work he has to do to get ready for Christmas Eve. Revd Carolyn had thanked Father Christmas and his helper before they left and then she thanked all the people who had put in so much effort to make ‘Tea with Father Christmas’ 2015 so successful.
