Carol Service

St Mary’s church rang out loud and clear with everyone’s favourite carols at the Village Carol Service this evening, starting with ‘Angels from the realms of glory’ right through to the final carol ‘Ding dong! merrily on high.’ It was a true delight to welcome so many people from the local Methodist Church, St Mary’s usual congregation and a lot of people who just wanted to enjoy the annual service.

The address was given by Rev’d. Abe Konadu-Yiadom who is Minister of the Broomfield Methodist Church and St Mary’s Choir sang a lovely Anthem entitled ‘Emmanuel’. The nine readings were beautifully delivered by Roger Cole, Lynne Johnson, Val Vicary, Reza Yaghoobi, Trudy Stevens, Heather Steed, Peter Baker and Alan Vine (from the Methodist Church). The ninth reading was the very powerful Gospel verses from John 1:1-14 ‘The Incarnation of the Word of God’ which was read by Rev’d Anne Harvey. The closing responses and the Blessing was given by Rev’d Carolyn Tibbott. The majority of the people then retired to St Leonard’s Hall for a relaxing chat with friends, mince pies and welcome refreshments that had been organised by the Ladies Group. Thank you to all, it was a wonderful evening
