Our lovely Palm Sunday Service

Our lovely Palm Sunday Service

It was a lovely, crisp and sunny morning as we gathered in St Leonard’s Hall for the start of our Palm Sunday Service. It was a beautiful service which began with the greeting and a blessing of our palm crosses. We then processed around the church waving our palms and crying out Hosanna. Which reminded us of Jesus’ triumphant ride into Jerusalem seated on a humble donkey. Jesus said to his disciples. ‘Go to the village ahead and you will find a colt tied there. Untie it and bring it here to me.’ As they were untying the colt, its owner asked, ‘Why are you untying the colt?’ The Disciples replied. ‘The Lord needs it.’ They brought it to Jesus, they spread their cloaks up it and helped Jesus onto it. As He went along, people spread their clothes on the road. And the whole crowd began joyfully waving palm leaves and praising God for all the miracles they had seen. Luke 19: 30-37. Our service continued as we stood, if we could, to hear the reading of the passion. So beautiful… The service continued with prayers, the peace and Holy Communion… Such a lovely day, such a meaningful service for all of us who attended. ‘Hosanna to the King of Kings!’
