Father, we thank you.

Father, we thank you.

Teacher, how do we pray? Jesus turned to his disciple and said… ‘You say, Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive all those indebted to us. And do not bring us to the time of trial… And I say to you. Ask and it will be given to you, search and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you.’ Such simple but profound words we heard today. At our morning service we were delighted to welcome young Ethan into the church family along with his little sister, parents, godparents and family. We prayed for them all as we witnessed his baptism. Then in the afternoon we were delighted to attend Songs of Praise in the churchyard, sheltered from the sun by the beautiful canopy of an huge, overhanging tree which helped keep us cool as we sang hymns and said prayers. Followed by a Strawberry tea in St Leonard’s Hall. The strawberries were accompanied by, cakes, scones, cream and jam, along with some Pimm’s and lemonade… Delicious. Father, we thank you for your love and boundless generosity to us. Amen
