Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

What a beautiful Service many of us enjoyed today at a special Evening Prayer in Remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Revd Carolyn conducted the service welcoming us all and introducing the service saying ‘Today we come together to remember before God her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, to give thanks for her life and to comfort one another in our grief’. In her sermon, Revd Carolyn brought to mind as to how it's not one bit unusual for many of us to become quite emotional when someone well-known, especially a member of the Royal Family passes away as it tends to bring those, we have lost come closer into our hearts and minds, how true that is. The first reading was from Revelations 21: 1-7 and the Gospel came from John 14: 1-6. The Psalm was everyone’s favourite, Psalm 23. And the hymns included ‘Be still my soul’ and ‘Abide with Me’. The service concluded with a prayer for our new King, Lord King Charles III and after the blessing we remained standing to sing the National Anthem; God Save the King… Amen
