This morning we celebrated the fruits of the Harvest… In her talk, Revd Dawn asked us if we share, she also asked us if life is unfair? Life, of course, is a gift therefore we should be happy to share what we have with those who have little or nothing. To illustrate, she called for the help of a young lad, a young lady and Roger, Revd Dawn approached the lad and thanked him heartily for the lovely reading he gave us during the service, to the young lady she gave thanks and a chocolate bar, but to Roger, she gave him not only a pack of biscuits but a pack of sweets and then some more goodies plus more and more until he could hardly handle all he was given… Roger being the man he is felt that he should share what he had been given but no, it wasn’t to be, rather like life. After all, the majority of us have enough and stores galore, whereas, some have very little or nothing and have to rely on the generosity of others. So yes, life is very unfair. However, Revd Dawn suggested that each week we all bring just one item, a tin or pack of something for the foodbank, my goodness… what an amount we could gather each week. God’s harvest for sure.
