All Saints Day:
Church News | Sunday, 30 October 2022 |
This Morning on all Saints Day, Canon John asked ‘Who are Saints?’ Saints are those who care for others, as well as keeping their faith in God. There kingly power is everlasting, even though they face many challenges, even-so, whatever the challenge, they keep the faith and never give up. Therefore, according to that wonderful hymn, ‘Rejoice in God’s Saints’ we need to keep the faith, while acquiring the habit of prayer, and of their depth of adoring, Lord we need always to share. At our Bereavement Service held this afternoon, a gentle, moving service conducted by Revd Carolyn, we were given time to bring our loved ones, who have passed into the arms of the Lord, back, for just a while, as we come to terms with our loss. We were able to light a candle in their memory and write a prayer for them. Those words and names of which will be prayed for every day at morning prayer for the next week. Revd Dawn read from John 6: 35-40 which assured us that if we have faith in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we will lose nothing, we will have everlasting life, and will be raised up on the last day – Amen.
