St Mary’s held its pancake party on Sunday just two days before the official day, but it gave everyone a chance to practice their pancake tossing skills before trying it out in their respective kitchens, or dare I say the lounge!

A good afternoon tea was spread out and somewhere around 35 people came along to enjoy the fun of the afternoon starting off with colouring pictures and puzzles, everyone seemed engrossed with their work while the pancakes were warming up in the oven. Eventually it was time for afternoon tea and everyone tucked into the sandwiches, crisps and nibbles before tackling the pancakes with their assorted toppings that everyone seemed to enjoy so much. Once everyone had had their fill of food the pancake tossing came into being with pancakes flying all over the hall, much laughter could be heard while frantic tossing and trying to catch the pancakes were happening and I did hear a whisper that someone nearly got knocked out by an overhead frying pan, however, the impending incident was very quickly averted as the pancakes were tossed to oblivion. All settled down after a while as some Chinese whispers took place causing ever more fun and laughter.

All in all St Mary’s pancake party was enjoyed by everyone and it must be said that the event was frying-pantastic!

Revd Carolyn and Revd Julie thanks everyone for helping the make the afternoon go with such a swing, those who helped prepare the food, supply the fun and games and those who kindly cleared everything away. Thank you…
