Singdicate in Concert
Church News | Wednesday, 14 June 2017 |
Sunday afternoon’s concert organised by Jill as part of a series to help raise funds for the restoration of the church organ gave as some truly great entertainment. Singdicate came in through the door singing and hardly paused for breath until the end. Unfortunately or fortunately, whichever way you care to look at it, the singing group didn’t produce a programme, instead they just sang! The talented group of young women sang beautiful and harmonious songs, some old some new along with some lovely medleys. Included was one of my all time favourites ‘Fields of Gold’ written by Sting. They also sang ‘The Yellow Taxi’ or from what most people would remember it as ‘The day Paradise put up a parking lot’, they also gave us a few songs from a Michael Bublé album. The all-ladies group also sang ‘Say a little prayer for me’, in the perfect setting of course and they also sang songs from a few of the West End shows. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and I am sure we all departed singing some of our own favourite songs. Thank you Singdicate! And thank you to Jill who organises the concerts for us.
