After all the events leading up to our annual Harvest Festival and Harvest Lunch there is a very slight lull while batteries become fully charged to face the oncoming months that lead up to Christmas. I did say that it was a slight lull, as it all kicks off again starting on Sunday 15th October with our Concert in Church – entitled CHEGO – Decoded stands for Chelmsford Guitar Orchestra, that is to be held this Sunday at 3.00 in Church – If you haven’t already got a ticket you can see Jill on Sunday Morning or buy a ticket on the door.
On Tuesday 17th October starting at 7.30 we have the Men’s Group holding a Film night in St Leonard’s Hall – Sounds good.
On Sunday 29th October we have our 10.30am Family Service during which you can bring in and offer your Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes which will be placed at the altar and blessed. It is also Bible Sunday – and Revd Carolyn would like you to bring your bible to be blessed.
On Wednesday 1st November we have our second trip to Essex Records Office 10am. The trip should prove to be extremely interesting.
On Sunday 5th November we have a new event for the children when at 10.30am Children’s Film Club begins. While we are having to listen to a sermon the children are going to see a film. Sounds very exciting.
Later on Sunday the 5th November the church is holding its Bereavement Service starting at 3.00pm. Although recently bereaved have been invited by letter Revd Carolyn would like to assure you that anyone can attend this sensitive service.
On Saturday 11th November we have an Armistice Service on Church Green starting at 10.50am by the War Memorial. Then on Sunday 12th November we have our Remembrance Sunday Service in Church, starting at 10.50am.
On Saturday 18th November St Mary’s is holding a Men’s Breakfast in St Leonard’s Hall starting at 9.30am with a Guest Speaker, there is a sign-up sheet at back of church to assist with catering.
On Tuesday 28th November the first of our afternoon Advent Reflections begins in St Leonard’s Hall starting at 2.00pm then on
Wednesday 29th November the first of our evening Advent Reflections begins in the Lady Chapel starting at 7.00pm.
Last but not least on Sunday 3rd December we have a trip to the Pantomime ‘Snow White’ at 6pm at the Civic Theatre. The tickets are priced at £18 per ticket. To pay, please contact Rachel on 01245 354627. Or email: Rachelabutterworth@gmail.com.
