Our memories make us who we are...

Our memories make us who we are...

On a glorious Sunday morning we, once again, came together in Church to remember all those brave men and women who gave their lives in two World Wars so that we might live in peace. In her address to a packed church Revd Carolyn, said that our memories are what makes us who we are. Our earliest memories shape our future no matter how good or bad they might be… The Remembrance service began with Roger Cole reading out all the names of those who died in the Great War of 1914-1918 then from the Second World War 1939-1945, which was followed by the Exhortation given by Peter Watson, Broomfield RBL President and the two minutes silence. Wreaths were then laid on the Memorial Window. After that wonderful hymn ‘Eternal Father, strong to save’ we had a beautiful poem read to us by Karen Denmark entitled ‘Heaven touched the wave’. The service ended with the National Anthem and a blessing before the majority of the congregation made their way in brilliant sunshine down to the War Graves where a short service of remembrance was held and individual wreaths and poppies were laid. ‘We will remember them’
