Tree planting Project
Church News | Monday, 25 November 2019 |
On Saturday 22nd November over 30 Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, leaders, parents and supporters planted over 400 trees and hedging around the fence-line of the new churchyard area. The tree species included Silver Birch; Oak; Rowan; as well as hedging species such as Hawthorn; Hazel and Blackthorn. These were all planted out randomly mixed and secured with bamboo stakes and tree guards. The species were chosen and supplied free by the Woodland Trust specifically as a selection to provide food and shelter for wildlife and to create a living legacy for future generations. A huge thank you to all those involved in the planting up and to the Woodland Trust for their generous donation. Roger Cole.
