Consider the Lily...

Consider the Lily...

This morning at the 10.30am Service we had, beautifully read for us, the story of the creation of the world from Genesis. What a story eh? The time-span for the creation of the world, be it made in just seven days or seven billion years doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things, but at least we are assured that God rested on the seventh ‘day’. It seems that the seventh day of the week was made holy imploring us all to take a rest from our labours. But how many of us do? Not many I imagine, even so, it’s a wonderful story and although it cannot be proven scientifically it seems that the order in which the world was created is almost spot-on. Revd Anne gave the sermon this morning and she reminded us that we should not worry too much even though most of us do, as worry cannot improve or lengthen our lives. Matthew reminds us how Jesus states that we should not worry about the food we eat or the clothes we wear as God will provide. Not literally I imagine but God I am sure, will provide us with the talents and where-with-all to obtain that which we need. We are urged to keep going, don’t worry and trust in God…
