Wow! What a fabulous family fun day we all enjoyed. It started with doors open at 10.00am for set-up, everything that is, from Father Christmas’ grotto, stalls for sale-goods and games, mulled wine and cakes, raffle and the hugest Christmas tree I have ever seen in a church. By 12noon, we were all called into the hall to be entertained by Paul on his guitar which was lovely. After a few moments of meaningful prayer we were treated to yummy soup and sandwiches.
By 2.00pm we were just about ready for the puppet crew to perform their first two songs, but not before Father Christmas had arrived, ready to take his place in the round tower grotto.
Throughout the afternoon, we had lots of games to play, cards to browse through and a time to relax with some mulled wine, drinks and cakes We were treated to no less than three performances’ from the puppet crew while in-between; we were entertained with Christmas music played on the steel pan by David, from the ‘Pan Café’.
We had a really wonderful day, everyone seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed it and it made a really great run-up to the excitement of greeting our Lord once again at the Christmas services held at St Mary’s and St Leonard’s Church.
Carolyn thanked everyone for all the time, work and energy put into the family fun day, it created a wonderful sense of friendship and fellowship for all.
The amount raised for St Mary’s Church was around £300.00
