At the 10.30am Mothering Sunday service the lent reflection read like this - People look at the outside of a person, but God looks at the heart. We give thanks for all who nurture us, all who are able to see us as God sees us.
The reflection was such a meaningful and apt reading to help us celebrate Mothering Sunday. Usually our mothers know us so well, that apart from God, she is the only person who senses or knows our manifold problems before we recognise them for ourselves.
It was a happy family service and the puppet crew helped the service along by performing to the beautiful tune, ‘Your song’. There were lots of props made and used to help the song along and it ended showing the lovely faces of many of the mums that worship and work at the church.
The beautiful Mothering Sunday posies were blessed and distributed, first to the children so that they could give them to their mothers then they were handed out to all the ladies in the church. The flower-laden baskets were stunning and grateful thanks must be given to the ladies who did so much work to make the posies look so beautiful, thank you very much!
